John Maron, coming off a final table in the Main Event of the Victorian Championships, limped into the pot before Matt Hawker then popped it up to 2,500 from late position. The table folded back to Maron who then announced a reraise to 5,500. Hawker made the call as a big pot was brewing.

The flop landed {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Maron led for 3,000. Hawker then raised once again, making it 7,000 to go. Maron cringed and decided to release as he folded pocket kings face up. Amazingly Hawker flashed pocket queens, as he turns the ladies into a bluff to take down the pot!

Hawker is up to 37,000 with Maron slipping to 12,500.
