Event #1 Champ Nick Schulman Out in 10 Minutes, Out of Poker Masters Running

Coming into today, Nick Schulman sat third in Poker Masters earnings with $918,000 thanks to his victory in Event #1. That put him in a great spot to make a run at the Purple Jacket, but those hopes were just dashed.

Just 10 minutes into the tournament, action folded to Schulman on the button and he raised to 3,000. Scott Seiver was in the small blind and popped it to 13,000, which Schulman called after Steffen Sontheimer folded from the big.

Seiver then checked the {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop and Schulman bet 28,000. Seiver called and then check-called a bet of 60,000 on the {3-Clubs} turn.

When the {Q-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Seiver checked for a third time and Schulman moved in for his last 115,000. Seiver snap called and rolled over the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a rivered full house, which cracked the {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flopped trips of Schulman.

With that, Schulman became the tournament's first elimination and saw his inaugural Poker Masters come to an end.
