Fa Turning the Screws

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

There have been four hands played since the break, and Chou Chien Fa has won three of them, with only one of the four making it to a flop but no further. Ling He was the only other player to win a hand, and he did so by moving all-in pre-flop for 675,000 and finding no customers.

Chou Chien Fa is hitting hands at the right time and is now holding a commanding lead after sending Malaysia's Lee Kuan Wee to the rail almost immediately after ousting Yu You Ci Tsai.

It was Fa the man to raise first, making it 100,000 to go from late position, with Wee moving all-in from the blinds for the last of his chips, with Fa making a quick call.

Lee Kuan Wee: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Chou Chien Fa: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Wee was on his feet calling for the ace, but his pleas fell on deaf ears, with the board running out {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} to bring the final table down to four-handed.

Yu You Ci Tsai Eliminated in 6th Place (TWD 328,600/$10,485)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The hand after the longest hand, Yu You Ci Tsai's final table came to a close. It was Ling He the man to light the fuse with a raise to 100,000 from mid-position, with Chou Chien Fa reraising to 300,000 from one seat over. Neighbor Tsai then moved all-in for 900,000 and after He folded, Fa asked for a count, then slammed down the calling chips.

Chou Chien Fa: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Yu You Ci Tsai: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

It was down to a race to decide Tsai's fate, and it was one he lost when the board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Despite flirting with the chip lead briefly, Tsai's tournament is now over, and he departed in 6th place for a TWD 328,600 ($10,485) payday, while Fa extended his already sizable lead still further.

Erquiaga Wins Longest Hand of the Day

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In a pot that took over 10 minutes to play out, David Erquiaga has edged in front of Yu You Tsai in the chip counts. Both players spent so much time in the tank this hand that its a wonder the Taiwanese army has any heavy ordinance left.

It was a blind on blind battle between the two, with Tsai making it 80,000 to go in the small blind, and Erquiaga re-raising to 225,000. There was some thinking on Tsai's part before he made the call and the flop came down {7-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

After quite some time, both players elected to check. The {4-Hearts} turn saw Tsai check once more, and Erquiaga made a delayed continuation bet of 200,000. Tsai counted out the call, then sat back in his chair and thought some more. Eventually, Tsia made the call and the {a-Clubs} river completed the hand.

After a third check from Tsai, Erquiaga made it 300,000 to go. An ice age later, Tsai's hand hit the muck.

Wai King Cheung Eliminated in 7th Place for (TWD 273,000/$8,710)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Wai King Cheung

After a few hands of pushing and shoving, with just two of them making it to a flop and no further, a big hand played out that saw start-of-day chip leader Wai King Cheung depart at the hands of the new table captain, Chou Chien Fa.

It was David Erquiaga who was the instigator, making it 100,000 to go from early position, before Cheung moved all-in from the button for 695,000 in total. Sitting in the big blind, Chou Chien Fa asked for a count, and then announced the call, with Erquiaga getting out of the way.

Chou Chien Fa: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Wai King Cheung: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Cheung looked crestfallen to be in such bad shape, and his dreams of a first major title went up in smoke on the {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} runout. Cheung departed in 7th Place for TWD 273,000 ($8,710), while Fa now has a commanding lead of 3.3 million.

Two Shoves, No Calls

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ling He is one of the shorter stacks after losing that previous big hand to David Erquiaga and He moved all-in over the top of an 80,000 Yu You Ci Tsai open to take down the blinds and antes.

The next hand it was Alex Lindop the man raising, making it 80,000 to go from the hijack, but folding to a Wai King Cheung button shove.

Erquiaga vs. He Round Two

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

David Erquiaga has earned another double at the expense of Ling He. It was He the man to open the action with an under-the-gun open to 105,000, which Yu You Ci Tsai called, before David Erquiaga moved all-in for 385,000 in total.

He re-shoved for 880,000 and Tsai got out of the way, with the two players flipping over their hole cards.

Ling He: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
David Erquiaga: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Erquiaga paired his jack on the {3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop, improving to trips on the {j-Clubs} turn and a boat on the {a-Spades} river to double through He once more.
