Not a Good Start for Wu
Kuisong Wu's High Roller has not gotten off to the start the Chinese player wanted, with Wu losing a sizable early pot to the recently arrived defending champion Chung Yuan Yu.
It was the latter who was the initial aggressor, making it 600 to go from the hijack, with Wu opting to raise it up to 2,000 from the cutoff. The rest of the table bowed out and Yu tossed in the extras to take the action heads-up to the flop.
Yu opted to lead for 3,000 and Wu did not take long to make the call, keeping the pair in action to the turn, pairing the board. This brought two checks and the dealer peeled off the river card.
Yu thought it over before deciding the right amount to bet was 7,500. The Taiwanese player was spot on with his bet sizing as Wu made the call after some careful contemplation, but could only muck when Yu rolled over for the turned full house.
Yu is now the early frontrunner with a stack of 62,500 while Wu is the short stack with 14,500 chips behind.
