Farrington Folds Out Weiyi
Denmark’s Frederik Farrington is holding on to his tournament life with a firm grip and has just emerged triumphant in a battle of the blinds against tablemate Zhang Weiyi.
We picked up the action on the turn with the community cards spread just as Farrington fired for 40,000 into the 80,000 pot. Weiyi thought long and hard about his decision and did not seem to find Farrington all that believable apparently as he made the call to grow the pot to 160,000.
The river saw Farrington think things over for a minute or so before reaching for chips and the Danish player bet big, leading out for 135,000 leaving himself just 60,000 behind.
That looks pretty believable to us and Weiyi evidently thought so too as he grudgingly folded, leaving Farrington to scoop the pot without showdown and he climbed to around 375,000 while Weiyi dropped to 400,000.
