Lam Beats Yeung
We are now up to 56 entries, 50 of whom are still in the running. One of those is Macau’s Yuehin Lam who has got his Main Event off to a great start and is sitting on a stack over 65,000. This has just got a little bigger, at the expense of Hong Kong’s Wai Yeung.
Pre-flop Lam opened the action with a raise to 500 from middle position with Yeung and Iori Yogo making the call from the hi-jack and button respectively.
The flop saw Lam lead out for 1,200 and Yeung thought it over before throwing out some raising chips, making it 2,700 to go. Yogo quickly folded but Lam did not look ready to give it up just yet and after thinking things over he made the call to tale play heads-up to the turn.
Lam checked it over to Yeung, who continued to try and sell his story with a 4,500 bet into the 7,200 pot. Lam called a lot quicker than he did on the flop and it was off to the river.
The Macanese player checked it over to Yeung, who looked deterred from firing again by the speed of Lam’s turn call and he quickly checked it back.
First to act means first to show if there has been no betting and Lam rolled over and Yeung quickly folded.
