Petrangelo Folds to Holz

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

After checking the flop of {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Nick Petrangelo and Fedor Holz went heads up to the turn {8-Spades}. Petrangelo checked again to Holz, who fired out a bet of 21,000.

Petrangelo made the call and the duo went to the river {7-Spades}, which saw another check from Petrangelo.

Holz then announced a bet of 47,000 which sent Petrangelo into the tank. After burning through one of his time banks, he decided to fold and Holz was pushed the pot.

"Did you put him on king-eight?" Tablemate Sean WInter asked Petrangelo, who nodded his head and tapped the table.

Petrangelo Takes Out Addamo

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo bet 6,000 on a flop showing {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and was three-bet by Michael Addamo to 18,000. Petrangelo quickly four-bet to 42,000, representing most of Addamo's remaining stack.

Addamo committed the rest of his chips and was at risk heading to the turn.

Michael Addamo: {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Nick Petrangelo: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Addamo was trailing before the {6-Spades} turn flipped the advantage around, giving him two pair. However, the {a-Spades} river swung the lead back to Petrangelo with two better pairs. Addamo was eliminated as Petrangelo added to his stack.

Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Mikita Badziakouski open-shoved from under the gun for 65,000 and players quickly folded around. The action got to Nick Petrangelo in the big blind who took one look at his cards before quickly making the call, putting Badziakouski at risk.

Mikita Badziakouski: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Nick Petrangelo: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Badziakouski shook his head as he realized his predicament. The flop came out {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, which flopped him stone dead as Petrangelo even had the heart redraw. The board completed with {5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Badziakouski tapped the table and made his way to the exit.

Holz Eliminates O'Dwyer

Level 11 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Fedor Holz opened and was quickly three-bet all-in by Stephen O'Dwyer. The action folded back around to Holz, who slid in the call and put O'Dwyer at risk.

Stephen O'Dwyer: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Fedor Holz: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Holz had O'Dwyer dominated and the {j-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts} runout changed nothing. O'Dwyer's short stay ended, while Holz's stack continued to grow.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Shares Mirage Stories

Level 11 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.
