Matakis Loses Loads to Tolbert

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a battle big blind versus under the gun, Ian Matakis was making a move when he fired a bet of 325,000 on the {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades} river. Clint Tolbert talked more to himself than anyone at the table and called within the allocated 30-second shot clock.

Matakis rolled over {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a pair of eights and missed flush draw while Tolbert won the pot with the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. He then apologised for a slow roll and joked "why do I always talk out loud ... I talk to myself all the time."

The next hand brought a limp by Matakis in the small blind and Tolbert raised to 80,000 from the big blind, which Matakis opted to call. Both checked the {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and Matakis then bet the {8-Hearts} turn for 55,000. Tolbert raised it up to 175,000 and Matakis quickly folded.
