Hands #68–72: Strelitz With A Backdoor

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Daniel Strelitz
Daniel Strelitz

Hand #68: Daniel Strelitz raised to 160,000 from under the gun with {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Pavel Veksler picked up {J-Spades}{9-Spades} on the button and checked how much Strelitz had before calling.

The dealer spread an action flop of {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Strelitz checked. Veksler bet 135,000 with top two pair and Strelitz called with his straight draw. The {A-Hearts} on the turn added a flush draw for Strelitz and he checked and Veksler checked behind.

The {8-Hearts} river completed Strelitz' backdoor flush draw. With the second nuts, he bet 425,000. Veksler had a displeased look on his face and used a time bank card before folding.

Hand #69: Scott Wellenbach raised to 320,000 from the small blind with {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Strelitz also had a nine-six, the {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and called. Wellenbach flopped a flush draw on {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and easily took it with a bet of 400,000.

Hand #70: Brian Altman came in with a raise to 160,000 from under the gun with {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Chino Rheem called from the bg blind with {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}. The flop was {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Altman won it with 150,000.

Hand #71: Wellenbach raised to 200,000 from the cutoff with {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Altman defended {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Wellenbach continued with 300,000 on the {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop and Altman folded.

Hand #72: Strelitz picked up a monster with {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and raised to 160,000 in the cutoff. Rheem called {K-Spades}{6-Spades} on the button.

The {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop got quickly checked by both players. Strelitz bet 250,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and Rheem gave it up.
