Hands #46-47: Haxton Makes a Tough Call, Doubles

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand 46: Cary Katz opened the cutoff with {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} making it 85,000. Ivan Luca called from the big blind with {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Luca checked. Katz bet 75,000 into 225,000 and Luca called.

The {K-Diamonds} on the turn paired the board and Luca checked once again. This time, Katz bet 200,000 into 375,000 and Luca folded. Katz showed his cards.

Hand 47: Ivan Luca in the small blind limped in with {K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Big blind Isaac Haxton checked {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Luca and Haxton both checked. The {3-Clubs} on the turn saw Luca check again. Haxton bet 60,000 and Luca check-raised to 265,000. Haxton called with the pair and open-ended.

The {Q-Clubs} on the river completed the board. With now four clubs on the table, Luca glanced over to Haxton's stack. Haxton had 590,000 behind and there was 645,000 in the pot.

Luca shoved by placing 700,000 in the middle.

Haxton used two time bank cards to gain a minute extra to think about it. He eventually called, doubling doing so.
