Christian Rudolph Doubles Before Break

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On the last hand before the break, Christian Rudolph opened with a raise to 52,000. Action folded around where Shawn Buchanan asked for a count before reraising, making it a little over 500,000. Action folded back to Rudolph and he called off for his stack of 493,000.

Rudolph: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Buchanan: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} which kept Rudolph in the lead the whole way and allowed him to double up, while Buchanan was cut down yet again after having a rough level.

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Daniel Coupal

David Peters opened for 55,000 with {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} under the gun. Maria Lampropulos called from the button with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Daniel Coupal in the big blind shoved for 566,000 with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Peters folded right away. Lampropulos called.

"Lucky, one time..." Coupal said.

"I think ace-jack is gonna win this thing," he continued.

The flop came {J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, helping Coupal in front. The {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave Lampropulos some additional outs but the {6-Hearts} on the river wasn't one of them and Coupal doubled.

Set Over Set Propels Aldemir Into the Lead

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Koray Aldemir from Day 3 of the Main Event
Koray Aldemir from Day 3 of the Main Event

Christian Rudolph opened with a raise to 52,000 from the hijack seat. Koray Aldemir called from the cutoff, Bartosz Stasiewicz called from the button, Shawn Buchanan called from the small blind, and Michael Farrow also called from the big, creating a five-way pot heading to a flop.

The dealer rolled out the {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop and action checked all the way around. On the {3-Clubs} turn, action checked to Aldemir who put out a bet of 180,000. His only caller is Shawn Buchanan.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Buchanan checks over to Aldemir. Aldemir fires again, betting a massive 480,000. Buchanan drops into the tank and thinks for several minutes before finally calling. Aldemir shows his {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} which is good as Buchanan turns over his {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a lesser set. Fortunately for Buchanan, he was able to escape with his life, while Aldemir propelled to nearly 4 million chips.
