Michael Stashin Assumes the Tournament Chip Lead in a Monster Pot

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

From the hijack seat, Michael Stashin opened with a raise to 7,000. Action folded around to the button where Oliver Weis reraised, making it 22,000. Next to act was Gleidibe Goncalves and he cold four-bet to 62,000 from the small blind. Back on Stashin and he called, leading to a call from Weis as well.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Goncalves led outs for 43,000. Stashin took a bit before calling while Weis quickly folded.

Both players checked on the {6-Diamonds} turn to see the {5-Clubs} river. There, Goncalves checked again and with a sigh, Stashin checked too. Stashin turned up his {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and it was good as Goncalves mucked his hand.

"Jesus christ," Stashin said after the hand. "I almost folded the flop. I was very confused that hand."

With that hand, Stashin moves into the tournament chip lead at this point with the first stack to cross half a million chips.
