Jean-Noel Thorel Eliminated in 3rd Place ($339,480)

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Hand 106: Jean-Noel Thorel moved in from the small blind with {J-Clubs}{7-Spades} and big blind Byron Kaverman didn't have much of a headache with {K-Spades}{10-Clubs} and called.

The flop of {J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} had something for both as Thorel paired up while Kaverman hit an open-ended.

The {9-Clubs} on the turn made Kaverman's hand and Thorel said his goodbyes as he had no chance of winning anymore.

"Salut!" he said, "Good luck!"

"It sure was a battle, it was fun," Kaverman said while shaking hands with the French entrepreneur.

The {7-Clubs} on the river completed the board and Thorel was heading for the payout. His third place prize netted him $339,480.

A small break now while the stage is prepared for the heads-up battle between Byron Kaverman and Steve O'Dwyer. They're guaranteed $531,860 at this point with $769,500 up top.
