"J.N.T." Sends Petrangelo Home

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo shipped all in for 130,000 from early position and Jean-Noel Thorel re-raised to 275,000 in middle position. The rest of the table folded and the cards were on their backs.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Nick Petrangelo: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Thorel's pair of tens took down the ace-king of Petrangelo. At the next table over, you could hear players saying, "J.N.T. has a big smile on his face, he must have got him."

Seymour Making a Run

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With around 100,000 in the middle and the flop reading {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}, it was just Igor Kurganov and Richard Seymour left in the hand. Kurganov checked from the cutoff and Seymour bet 31,000 on the button. Kurganov called and the {10-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Kurganov led out for 55,000 this time and Seymour stuck around to see the {a-Spades} hit the river. Kurganov checked and Seymour pushed all in, forcing a snap-fold from Kurganov.

Haxton Eliminates Kirsch to Break the Bubble

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Jonathan Jaffe raised to 15,000 from under the gun, Isaac Haxton called from the cutoff, and Richard Kirsch shoved from the big blind for his last 30,000. Jaffe and Haxton both called.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Jaffe checked. Haxton checked behind.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Jaffe checked. Haxton bet 20,000 into the side pot, Jaffe folded, and the two remaining live players tabled their hands.

Haxton: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Kirsch: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

Haxton had flopped trip queens and Kirsch found himself drawing dead on the turn. After the meaningless {7-Clubs} fell on the river, Haxton took the pot to eliminate Kirsch and end the money bubble.

Kings Good for Watson

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Mike Watson opened to 13,000 from middle position and got called by Justin Bonomo on the button and Steffen Sontheimer in the small blind. Watson continued after a {9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop with a bet of 18,000 finding only Bonomo interested.

Watson slowed down when the {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn, check-calling a bet of 20,000 from Bonomo.

Both players checked the {j-Diamonds} on the river and Watson took the pot tabling the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Engel Takes One

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ari Engel limped in from the button, Jonathan Jaffe completed his small blind, and Peter Jetten checked his option.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and action checked to Engel who bet 10,000. Jaffe called and Jetten folded.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and Jaffe checked. Engel checked behind.

The {6-Spades} fell on the river and Jaffe bet 26,000. Engel called, Jaffe showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a missed open-ended straight draw, and Engel showed {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to take the pot.

Mike Watson: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Watson Doubles Through Seymour

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Richard Seymour opened to 15,000 from early position and Mike Watson three-bet shoved from the big blind for 87,000. Seymour had Watson covered by a wide margin and called.

Mike Watson: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Richard Seymour: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Watson found himself racing for his tournament life and Seymour needed to improve in order to knock him out. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to give Watson a set and neither the {6-Spades} turn nor {J-Clubs} river were any help to Seymour, so Watson took the pot to double up.
