Ramos Takes a Big Hit

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

It was not the start that Felipe Ramos had envisioned coming into the final day of the $25,000 High Roller. Richard Seymour opened to 47,000 from the hijack and Ramos defended his big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the {10-Spades} on the turn.

Ramos checked again and Seymour fired a bet of 50,000 which Ramos called. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Ramos checked one more time. Seymour bet another 115,000 and Ramos called after using up a time bank. Seymour tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Ramos was forced to muck.

In the next hand, Justin Bonomo pushed all in from under the gun for 361,000 and the action folded to Ramos in the small blind. He took his time before making the call and when the cards were tabled, it was a race. Bonomo held {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Ramos showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Bonomo got a full double up through Ramos, leaving him with around 50,000 chips.
