Etcheverry's Shove Gets the Job Done

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We got to the table with two players, Juan Etcheverry and Diego Ventura, seeing a flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and approximately 55,000 chips already in the pot. Etcheverry checked to Ventura who bet 20,000 only to see Etcheverry check-raise to 62,000. Ventura made the call.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and Etcheverry didn't take long to announce that he was all in.

Ventura sat still for a moment and then asked how much it was. The dealer counted the stack down and confirmed the amount as being 305,000. This was enough to cover Ventura who had 295,000 behind. Ventura counted his stack down and then glances over at Etcheverry who whispered something we couldn't quite understand to Ventura.

Ventura said nothing and after several more minutes in the tank, Etcheverry asked for the clock. The two sat there staring at one another while the tournament staff counted down the minute with Etcheverry raising his eyebrows at one point. With about 20 seconds left in the minute, Ventura slid his cards to the dealer. Etcheverry mucked his hand while humming a song, obviously pleased with how the hand had gone down.
