Selbst Busts Gruissem; Nearing 2.5M Chips

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Philipp Gruissem shakes hands with Dan Shake after his elimination
Philipp Gruissem shakes hands with Dan Shake after his elimination

Philipp Gruissem was all in and at risk preflop for 388,000 against Vanessa Selbst at the feature table. Gruissem, who was in the hijack seat, held {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, while Selbst, in the big blind, had {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop gave Selbst a flush draw to go with her two overcards, and the {10-Clubs} on the turn gave her a leading pair of tens. Gruissem could take the lead with an eight for a straight or the {7-Spades} for a set of sevens, but the {10-Spades} on the river only improved Selbst's hand.

She rocketed up to 2.462 million chips, while Gruissem is now eliminated.
