Three-Way Clash Sees Drinan Nearly Triple and Marchese Bust

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A three-way all-in confrontation between Tom Marchese, Joseph Cheong, and Connor Drinan just went down on the back table in the room. Marchese was at risk for 60,500 with the {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Drinan was also at risk, but for 81,100 and holding the {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} Cheong had both covered and held the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop gave Drinan the lead when the {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} fell. The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and the river was the {8-Hearts}. Drinan won the pot to nearly triple his stack to over 220,000, while Marchese was eliminated. Cheong was knocked back to 145,000.

Julius Takes a Big Hit

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The board read {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} when Kyle Julius, who was sitting out of position, was facing a 58,000-chip bet from Fedor Holz.

After tanking for a while Julius reluctantly called and Holz showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Julius mucked his cards and dropped down to below the average stack.

Myro Garcia
Myro Garcia

Kyle Julius raised to 6,500 from the under-the-gun plus one position and Max Altergott three-bet to 15,500 from the hijack. Myro Garcia, on the button, four-bet to 39,000 and Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst went into the tank for quite a while from the big blind.

Eventually Selbst folded and Julius did so as well. Altergott moved all in for about 110,000 and Garcia snap-called.

Altergott: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Garcia: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Altergott, formerly winner of the €100,000 Super High Roller in Monte Carlo, was knocked out.
