Kings vs. Kings

Greg Merson
Greg Merson

From middle position, Team PokerStars Pro and defending champion Vanessa Selbst raised to 52,000. Aleksandr Denisov reraised to 127,000 from the hijack seat, and then play moved to 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Greg Merson in the small blind. Merson reraised and made it 280,000 to go. The blinds and Selbst folded, then Denisov went into the tank.

Denisov tanked for a couple of minutes before someone eventually called the clock. Before the floor staff could arrive at the table to start the countdown, Denisov reraised all in for around 800,000. Merson quickly called.

Both players tabled pocket kings. Merson had the red ones with the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, and Denisov had the black ones with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The flop, turn, and river ran out {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and the two chopped up the pot.
