Kanit Fires At Schindler

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

From under the gun, Jake Schindler raised to 120,000. Mustapha Kanit reraised on the button to 265,000, and Schindler made the call after the blinds folded.

On the {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, Schindler check-called a bet of 215,000 from Kanit to see the {8-Spades} land on the turn. Here, both players checked, and then the dealer completed the board with the {A-Spades}. Schindler checked, and Kanit bet what looked to be 580,000. Schindler went into the tank and eventually folded, giving Kanit the pot.

With that pot, Schindler dropped back to 2.9 million while Kanit increased to 3.36 million and currently leads the way.

Selbst Abusing Mizrachi

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Rob Mizrachi has one of the worst seats at the table. He's to the direct right of Vanessa Selbst, and we all know how aggressive she likes to play, especially when she's yielding chips. On two recent back-to-back hands, Mizrachi felt that aggression.

On the first of the two hands, action folded to Mizrachi on the button. He opened with a raise to 125,000. Selbst reraised from the small blind to 290,000, and Mizrachi folded.

The very next hand, Mizrachi made it 120,000 to go from the cutoff seat, and then Selbst three-bet to 280,000 on the button. This time, Mizrachi called, opting to take a flop out of position against the defending champion of this event.

The flop fell {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, and Mizrachi checked. Selbst bet 270,000, and Mizrachi made the call to see the {8-Hearts} land on the turn. Mizrachi checked, and Selbst slid forward 435,000. After a little bit of tanking, Mizrachi folded, and Selbst won the pot.

Ole Schemion Eliminated in 7th Place ($216,040)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

From the hijack seat, Ole Schemion raised to 100,000. Jake Schindler called from the big blind, and the flop came down {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Schindler checked, Schemion bet 115,000, and Schindler called.

The turn was the {K-Clubs}, and Schindler checked. Schemion fired 225,000 with 920,000 behind, and then Schindler check-raised all in for 1.13 million. Schemion tanked for a bit and then called with the {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for top pair. Schindler held a combo draw with the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

The river was the {10-Spades} to give Schindler a ten-high straight, and he won the pot. Schemion had just 15,000 more than Schindler and was left with that very small amount.

On the very next hand, the blinds kicked up to 30,000/60,000/10,000. After tossing in the ante, Schemion had just 5,000 in chips left. After the deal, he tossed his last blue T5,000 chip into the middle from under the gun plus one. In the next seat, the hijack seat, Mustapha Kanit raised to 120,000. Everyone folded, leaving Schemion at risk against Kanit.

Schemion had the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, but was dominated by the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for Kanit. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades}, and Schemion was eliminated in seventh place. He earned $216,040 for his result.

Last year, Schemion took fifth in this very event, earning $354,860, and earlier in this year's PokerStars Caribbean Advneture, he took seventh in the $100,000 Super High Roller for $277,080.
