After Doubling Early Lemke's Night Has Taken A Turn For The Worse

Brian Lemke
Brian Lemke

In the first 20 minutes of this tournament nearly 12 hours ago, Brian Lemke became the first player to double when he picked up aces and Jonathan Jaffe got frisky with {J-}{8-}. It was a great start to the day, but this last level has taken it's toll.

Lemke recently lost a race to Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger. It happened when the latter got his stack of 82,600 all in preflop with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and was up against the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} of Lemke. Both the {Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop and {2-Spades} turn kept Lemke in the lead, but then the {A-Hearts} spiked on the river to give Lichtenberg the come-from-behind win. Lemke was left with just 43,000.
