Kurganov's Second Bullet Isn't Going Well
Just before the level up, Igor Kurganov, who already busted this tournament once and opted to re-enter, opened for 5,000 when action folded to him on the button. Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel, who had an amazing year here at the PCA in 2012 including a fourth-place finish in this event for $313,600, then opted to three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind.
Kurganov called the additional 11,000 and then called when Duhamel bet 14,000 on the flop. Duhamel kept the pressure on with a bet of 34,500 on the river, but Kurganov was not to be deterred and made the call. When the peeled off on the river, Duhamel fired out a healthy bet of 74,000, and after thinking for about thirty seconds, Kurganov made the call.
Duhamel tabled , and a frustrated Kurganov sent his cards to the muck while dropping to 66,000.
