Action Slowing

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Play has slowed considerably as of late as all four players are taking turns trading blinds and antes. Raise and take its have characterized the level, with a few walks sprinkled in there.

Seiver Spikes an Ace

Scott Seiver doubles
Scott Seiver doubles

Scott Seiver open-jammed for 1.505 million on the button with {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, and Cary Katz re-shoved in the small blind with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. David Sands folded in the big blind.

The {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop didn't change much, but the {a-Spades} spiked on the turn, giving Seiver a pair of aces.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board, and Seiver doubled to 3.1 million chips.

One for Katz

David "Doc" Sands opened for 200,000 under the gun with {10-Spades}{6-Spades} and received calls from Nick Shulman and Cary Katz, who held {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} on the button and big blind respectively.

Katz checked the {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, and Sands continued for 270,000. Schulman folded, Katz moved all in, and Sands quickly got away from the hand.

Chop it Up

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

David "Doc" Sands opened on the button with {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Scott Seiver three-bet jammed for 1.53 million from the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and Sands called.

The flop fell {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, increasing the split probabilities to 37 percent. Those odds increased to 59 percent when the {j-Clubs} turned, and they became 100 percent when the {a-Hearts} fell on the river.

The two chopped the pot, and Seiver could only laugh.

Last Hand Of The Level Sees Katz Make A Good Laydown

Level 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

David "Doc" Sands opened with a raise holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Cary Katz defended from the big blind with {Q-Spades}{2-Spades}. The {5-Spades}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop gave Katz second pair, but it was no good as Sands had flopped top two pair.

Katz checked, Sands bet 80,000, and Katz made the call while saying, "I'll let you sucker me in." Katz then checked the {A-Clubs} turn and Sands thought for a long time before betting 270,000 with his full house. Katz lined up some chips and it looked like he was going to min-raise before quickly slinging his cards into the muck.
