It Isn't Fair: "The Lucky Hand Of The Tournament"

Ryan Fair has had a prosperous afternoon, which has included two doubles through Darren Elias. More recently, Fair added the chips of Fredrik Magnil to his stack.

It happened after Fair opened for 27,000 from the hijack and Magnil three-bet all in for 131,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Fair and he asked for a count. "My friend told me that this is the lucky hand of the tournament," Fair said of his holding before making the call.

"Eights?" inquired Magnil.

"No," Fair laughed. "If I had eights I'd have snap-called." Fair then tabled {10-Spades}{7-Spades} and was looking to improve against Magnil's {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop allowed him to do just that by pairing the ten, but the {6-Hearts} turn provided Magnil with a flush draw. "Never not a sweat," Fair said. "This is good for TV."

Indeed, the TV cameras were swarming as the dealer burned and put out the {2-Spades}. It wasn't what Magnil was looking for and he made a quick exit from the tournament floor while Fair chipped up to 1.3 million.
