Moneymaker Looking To Improve Upon 2011's 11th-Place Finish
In 2011, the poker world was captivated as Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker, their hero from the poker boom, made a deep run in the PCA Main Event. Unfortunately Moneymaker's deep run through a field of 1,560 players came up short of the final table in 11th place, for which he earned $130,000.
Moneymaker is in today's field and looking to improve upon that performance. In a recent hand, there was 1,350 in the pot and a board reading . The player in the big blind had checked to Moneymaker, who fired out a single yellow T1,000 chip. It proved enough to get the job done as Moneymaker's opponent gave up on the hand.
It's a good start for the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champ.
