Hall Out First

Well, we've lost the defending champ.

In middle position, Martin Jacobson opened to 20,000, and Galen Hall peeked down at {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} in the hole. He only had 177,000 chips left, and he went ahead and stuck them all in there. Jacobson spent some time thinking which had to ease Hall's mind a bit, but the call eventually came, and Jacobson was flipping for the knockout with {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}.

And the knockout he would get. The board rolled out {5-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {J-Spades}, and that's the end of the road for Galen Hall. He certainly knows his way around this building by now, but this time around, he'll have to settle for a consolation prize of $32,500.
