Straight on Board
From the cutoff seat, Vivek Rajkumar opened to 26,000, and Daniel Cates tanked for a while on the button. Eventually, he grabbed all 152,000 of his chips and slid them across the line, and the table folded back to Rajkumar. Cates:
The flop was a big swing and a miss for Cates, but the turn did give him a few more outs to work with. The look on his face said he wasn't expecting to catch up, but the timely landed on the river to put a straight on board. Cates' plays, though, and his one-better straight has earned him a crucial double up. He's back up to 335,000 now, while Rajkumar falls back under a million to about 880,000.
