"SLHalper13" Gets a Double

"SLHalper13"
"SLHalper13"

In Level 18 with blinds of 3,000/6,000 and an ante of 750, "SLHalper13" shoved their last 52,000 into the middle preflop in middle position and action folded around to Michael "IIIIIIIIIIIII" Haberman, who was in the big blind and called.

"SLHalper13": {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Michael "IIIIIIIIIIIII" Haberman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop {3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} was of little direct interest to "SLHalper13", but the turn {10-Clubs} gave them tens up and put them out in front. They needed to fade Haberman's two overs plus their own overcard to the board, as it would give Haberman Broadway, and did just that as the river {5-Diamonds} completed the runout and earned them the double.

PartyPoker US Network Online Series

Level 17 has begun and the prize pool has become official as a result of the late registration period coming to an end. Eighty-five entries generated a total prize pool of $17,000 that is set to be paid out to the top 14 finishers, all of whom will earn at least $349. Payouts will increase from there all the way up to the eventual winner, who will earn themselves $4,154 for their efforts. Complete payout information can be found in the Payouts Tab.

Chin Made To Take Another Shot

Anthony Chin
Anthony Chin

In Level 16 with blinds of 2,000/4,000 and an ante of 500, Anthony "supremetny" Chin open-jammed for 57,150 in middle position and action folded around to Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty in the big blind, who called.

Anthony "supremetny" Chin: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The two were off to the races with Chin holding a narrow advantage. That gap widened on the flop {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, but everything changed on the turn {k-Spades} as Hagerty improved to a pair of kings. Chin was unable to find a set on the river {9-Hearts} and found himself momentarily out of chips as a result, electing to take another shot in the final level before the closing of the late registration period.

Get to Know BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Katie Stone

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

BorgataPoker.com has a trio of Sponsored Pros, and one of them is Katie Stone.

Stone has more than $176K in lifetime live tournament earnings including a career-bet $33,305 for finishing 378th in the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event. In addition, Stone has three Borgata Open titles including the 2018 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepest Stack for $19,337, 2017 Borgata Summer Poker Open $300 Ladies Event for $2,867, and 2017 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepstack for $9,484. She also recently won the CSOP Borgata Winter Poker Open Event back in January.

However, where Stone has really thrived is online where she’s amassed more than $900K in lifetime earnings. Of that, $146,954 has come on BorgataPoker.com where she plays under the screen name “KatieStone.”

According to a Q&A she did with the Borgata Blog, Stone was born and raised in New Jersey, but after Black Friday in 2011, she relocated to Rosarito, Mexico in order to continue playing online. When New Jersey authorized Atlantic City casinos to offer online gaming within state borders, Stone moved back north to New Jersey and picked up where she left off — winning!

Recently, Stone took the initiative to create the Discord channel “Poker Peeps Affected By COVID19” and invited those in casino industry affected by recent shutdowns to join.

“I realized how tough it was going to be for everyone to keep up with everything and everyone, with so much changing so fast,” Stone recently told PokerNews. “So, I messaged my friend Cy Watson, who has been very active on social media as well regarding Coronavirus, asking him if he thought it would be a good idea to start a chat for people in the industry to be able to connect with each other for help.”

She continued: “I think the main thing poker players and everyone can do is to keep an open mind. Understanding that this is unlike any situation any of us have encountered before, and so thinking outside the box can go a long way. Taking the time to improve a skill, or learn a new skill whether it's a game or something else could be really beneficial not just financially, but mentally.”

Michael Haberman

In Level 13 with blinds of 1,400/2,800 and an ante of 350, Michael "IIIIIIIIIIIII" Haberman raised to 6,100 under the gun and saw "SaltSea' three-bet jam for 107,000. Action folded back to Haberman and he immediately called.

Michael "IIIIIIIIIIIII" Haberman: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
"SaltSea": {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Nothing changed on a runout of {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Haberman scooped the double.

Liriano Jr. Sends Vanauken Onto Another Bullet

"hoodrathings"
"hoodrathings"

In Level 12 with blinds of 1,200/2,400 and an ante of 300, Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken opened the action with a raise to 4,800 in middle position and received a call from "kevmo15" in the hijack. Ramon "hoodrathings" Liriano Jr. was on the button and three-bet jammed for 63,700 effective, and saw only Vanauken call all in for 34,000.

Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Ramon "hoodrathings" Liriano Jr: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs} gave Liriano Jr. top pair but wound up changing Vanauken's number of outs from three, to four. None of it wound up mattering, however, as the turn {j-Hearts} and river {6-Clubs} left the situation unchanged and earned Liriano Jr. the pot and knockout while Vanauken was sent to re-enter.
