Brian “TopCreature” Sherrier Wins partypoker US Network Online Series Event #9: $20K GTD 8-Max NLH for $5,572

Brian “TopCreature” Sherrier has claimed the most recent title of the partypoker US Network Online Series after he topped 76 total entires and defeated Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon in a heads-up battle to win $5,572.32 in Event #9: $20K GTD 8-Max NLH ($320).

Only 11players were registered once play began, though that number more than tripled in the first three levels of play.

The field steadily grew and met its guarantee before registration closed, generating a $22,800 prize pool after the 76 total entries became official. This meant, the top 14 finishers would get a piece of the pie with 33 players remaining.

From there, the virtual bodies dropped quickly and a few short levels later, "KevinDurant" was eliminated on the bubble by "Believer111", leaving the remaining players in the money.

From there, eliminations continued like rapid fire with "Believer111" continuing their trend as they sent "maniacalmonk" home in ninth place, setting the stage for the official final table.

The final table featured many familiar players with Sherrier entering as the final table chip leader, while two-time series champion Kwon came in at the bottom.

"ScarletRaptor" was the first to fall victim at the final table with "echaser" falling shortly after.

The very next level saw two more virtual bodies drop after Alex “JinYang” Butcher was tripped-up by Kwon and "Believer111" was handed back-to-back bad beats to end their tournament in fifth place.

A full three levels passed before Jaime "mooseman1710" Reyes hit the rail holding big slick against Sherrier holding ace-ten. Reyes was ahead the entire way until a ten appeared on the river to give Sherrier two-pair.

Three-handed action saw "TheTerminator1" get their money in good holding king-queen off against Sherrier holding a suited ten-six. Unfortunately for "TheTerminator1", they fell victim to Sherrier's elimination spree after he flopped ten.

The heads-up battle saw Kwon catch an early double but Sherrier still held more than 90% of the chips in play and the match only lasted a few more hands before Sherrier turned the nuts and denied Kown his third title of the series.
