Buzgon Versus Forlenza

Daniel Buzgon
Daniel Buzgon

In Level 8 (5,000/10,000/1,200), Daniel "leinad" Buzgon raised to 22,000 from the cutoff only to have John "Slapshot1085" Forlenza, who is two days removed from winning Event #9: $10K GTD PKO, three-bet to 66,000 from the button.

Both blinds folded and Buzgon called to see the {2-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop, which both players checked.

When the {6-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, Buzgon bet 60,000 and then called when Forlenza raised to 160,000, which brought about the {9-Spades} on the turn.

Buzgon checked and Forlenza checked it back before mucking when the former rolled over the {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for trip nines.

David "TheKing411" Coleman Talks About Big partypoker US Network WPT Online Poker Open Win

At the beginning of July, the partypoker US Network in New Jersey reached a sizzling conclusion when the WPT Online Poker Open, which combined fields from partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker crowned a winner. The Main Event drew a field of 868 entries, generating a lofty $317,540 prize pool which surpassed its $300k guarantee. It marked the largest ever event for the New Jersey online poker network surpassing the $302,100 prize pool for the $320 buy-in partypoker US Network $250K GTD back on March 29.

In the end, it was David "TheKing411" Coleman who emerged victorious for a payday of $56,586. In addition to the first-place prize, he also earned a WPT Championship Trophy and an $11,000 prize package which includes entry into the next WPT in-person live event, the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, which will take place at Bellagio in Las Vegas ($10,400 buy-in), as well as $600 in cash towards travel expenses.

David Coleman spoke to PokerNews about the win.

"Duke1976" Done and Dusted

In Level 5 (2,500/5,000/600), four players each committed 10,000 preflop and saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

"centrfieldr23" checked from the small blind, "onoreally" did the same from the big, and "Duke1976" made it three checks in a row from the under-the-gun position.

"njpokeraa" then bet 21,800 from the button and all three of his opponents called. When the {4-Hearts} peeled off on the turn, "centrfieldr23" bet around 140,000 and both "onoreally" and "Duke1976" called off, the latter for approximately 60,000. "njpokeraa" got out of the way and a trio of hands were turned up.

"Duke1976": {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
"onoreally": {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
"cantrfieldr23": {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

"onoreally" was ahead with top pair and flush draw, which came in when the {j-Hearts} completed the board on the river. "onoreally" more than doubled in the hand while "Duke1976" exited the tournament.

"Allyoucaneat" is All Outta Here

In Level 3 (2,000/4,000/500), "UberNoober" opened for 9,999 from the hijack and Michael "miw210x" Wang called from the cutoff. The short-stacked "Allyoucaneat" flatted the button before "pompii" three-bet all in for 250,960 from the big blind. Two folds put action back on "Allyoucaneat" and they called off the 59,750 they had behind.

"Allyoucaneat": {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
"pompii": {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

"pompii" had the granddaddy of all hands and "Allyoucaneat" needed to get lucky. That didn't happen though as the board ran out a clean {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

“It took a little bit of time to get all the paperwork and stuff like that,” Buzgon previously told PokerNews of becoming sponsored. “It was in December when it started but wasn’t official until just before the Borgata Winter series. Duties include mainly playing a lot online, promoting the site, and trying to get new players on the site.”

According to HendonMob, Buzgon has more than $2.3 million in lifetime live tournament earnings since 2007. He’s a four-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner has played for big money before. In 2001, he finished third in the WPT Borgata Poker Open for $335,433, and last year he finished fifth in the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event for $202,942. He also finished fourth in the 2012 WPT bestbet Jacksonville for $94,624.

Additionally, Buzgon is a beast online where he’s amassed more than $3.1 million in earnings, of which $435,457 has come on BorgataPoker.com where he plays under the screen name “leinad.”
