$215 Event #7: $25K GTD 6-Max NLH

Day 1 Completed

Congratulations to "BiggY Blains", Winner of Event #7: $25K GTD 6-Max for $6,358

The BetMGM Online Series Poker Michigan has now crowned another winner after a heads-up deal was made in Event #7: $25K GTD 6-Max which saw a total of 114 show up to take a shot at the title. When the smoke had cleared it was "BiggY Blains" taking home the agreed-upon top prize of $6,358.

The penultimate event of the series was in the 6-Max format, creating an entire night of wide ranges and light three-bets. It took just five hours to hit the final table with none other than "BillY Blains" and "Cuz1455" sitting atop the leaderboard. The two eventually found themselves heads-up and it was not long before a deal was struck. "BiggY Blains" took the biggest piece of the pie but "Cuz1455" pulled in a respectable $5,579 for their finish.

Action of the Day

The second last major event of the series had 114 jump in for the action which fell short of the $25,000 guarantee by $2,200 but all players involved were ok with the free money that was added to the prize pool. When the late registration period ended there were only 38 runners left in contention for a shot at some of that juicy prize pool. Just 12 of those were to find a payday but all eyes were set on that $7,500 first-place money.

It took about 1 1/2 hours to drop down to the money with "DOLLARS4DANCERS" taking home the status of the bubble. "DOLLARS4DANCERS" found all their chips go into the middle with top pair but a rivered straight sent all of the chips to "BiggY Blains" and all players were then guaranteed at least a min-cash of $663.

Half an hour later and the last table of the night was set in stone. "Cuz1455" started off the eliminations when they rivered a straight to overcome the snowmen of "farmhand" who was the first to exit the final table. "kapoot" three-bet shoved with ace-eight and "Cuz1455" called with kujo. Two jacks came down on the board, shipping another early pot to "Cuz1455" and "kapoot" was eliminated.

"BiggY Blains" then took over, starting with "Doubleslants97" who pushed their stack in with the dead man's hand. "BiggY Blains" called with king-ten and surely enough a cowboy smacked down on the flop, dropping "Doubleslants97" from the field. "jjpoker75" found themselves as the new short-stack and elected to shove with ace-nine. "BiggY Blains" snapped with ace-jack and both hit their second card but "BiggY Blains" had the johnnie to pull in the pot, sending "jjpoker75" out in third.

Heads-up last for just a hand before players began to talk about a deal. The numbers didn't work for "Cuz1455" and play restarted shortly after. One hand later saw two players click on the "Deal" button and it was instantly agreed upon. "Cuz1455" scooped in $5,579 for their second-place finish and the champ took home $6,358, along with bragging rights.
