Old School Irish Players Joining the Action
A bunch of local Irish poker legends that have been around the game for decades have joined the Day 1b field.
Christina Green, who loves cash games, joined the tournament since the cash games are just starting to pick up.
Bobby Willis, who won a WSOP Circuit Ring at Caesars Atlantic City a decade ago in 2007 for $76,500 and has almost $350,000 in career tournament cashes according to The Hendon Mob, also recently entered the tournament.
Meanwhile, one of the most successful tournament players in Irish poker history in George McKeever with over $1 million in career tournament cashes (11th on the Irish All Time Money List) has also entered the festivities. McKeever gave things a go during Day 1a yesterday, however, was unable to bag chips and is trying again.
McKeever was one of a trio of Irish players to make the unofficial 1999 WSOP Main Event Final Table when he took seventh place for $125,775. Ireland's Noel Furlong went on to win the event for $1,000,000 while partypoker Ambassador Padraig Parkinson, who fired two bullets in the tournament in Day 1a yesterday, took third place in that event for $489,125.
