Ronan Sweeney Takes a Pot From Thomas Gallagher

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Ronan Sweeney opened for 180,000 holding {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and got a call from Thomas Gallagher with {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and the blinds folded.

The flop was {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Gallagher check-called a bet of 225,000 from Sweeney.

The turn was the {a-Spades} and a further bet of 500,000 from Sweeney saw chip leader Gallagher surrender second pair.

Ronan Gilligan Eliminated in 10th Place (€4,750)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Ronan Gilligan
Ronan Gilligan

Thomas Gallagher opened up from late position and Ronan Gilligan called from the big blind.

Gallagher fired out a continuation bet of 250,000 after the flop came {Q-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs} and got a call from his opponent. Gallagher then bet 500,000 after the {k-Hearts} appeared on the turn and Gilligan once again called.

The {a-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Gallagher declared himself all in for 1,750,000, which covered his opponent. Gilligan tanked for several minutes.

"That was the sickest card ever," said Gilligan with a look of disgust on his face.

He then said, "I think I am too big of a fish to fold," before speculating that his opponent had ace-king or ace-queen for the full house.

Gilligan eventually called, mucked his hand, and was eliminated in 10th place for €4,750 after Gallagher turned over {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the full house.

After the hand, the unofficial nine-handed final table which will be streamed under the Live Stream tab in our coverage began.

Robert Clarke Eliminated in 11th Place (€4,750)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Robert Clarke
Robert Clarke

Alan Kelleher opened up before Robert Clarke three-bet jammed to about 450,000. Kelleher quickly called with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and was ahead of Clarke's {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Clarke took the lead in the hand as the flop ran {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. However, the {k-Hearts} on the turn and the {q-Hearts} on the river gave both players a flush.

Unfortunately for Clarke, Kelleher's flush was higher and Clarke was eliminated in 11th place for €4,750.

The action is now five-handed on two tables and after one more elimination, the unofficial nine-max final table will begin.

Michael Graydon Eliminated in 12th Place (€4,750)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Graydon
Michael Graydon

Just before the break, the action folded around to Michael "Mick" Graydon in the small blind who open-jammed for about 600,000 with {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Yue Wang woke up with {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} from the big blind and snap-called.

The {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades} board wasn't able to help Graydon's hand and he was eliminated in 12th place for €4,750.

There are now four Golden Chip players that are hoping to make the final eight to win a Carribean Party Poker package valued at $10,000.
