Welcome to Day 2b of 2018 Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event
The final preliminary day has arrived in the partypoker 2018 Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event.
After three starting days of eight levels apiece and Day 2a, which saw a vast majority of those finding bags taking seats, Day 2b is here and with it will come the end of registration.
Thus far about 1,200 players have committed their $5,000 toward the prize pool, meaning the event is still about 800 entries short of meeting its lofty $10 million guarantee. There will undoubtedly be plenty of entries today as everyone who has busted out over the course of the past days, failing to punch tickets to Day 3, will be looking to get a chance at this juicy and rare opportunity.
That being said, it's looking to be a somewhat slow day to start off as only about 80 players selected Day 2b over Day 2a as their Day 2 of choice. Some of those confirmed for participation include Brian Hastings, Michael Kamran, Tony Ruberto, Adam Owen and Allen Kessler.
The plan for today is to play through 10 levels, with registration remaining open for the first four of those plus the 90-minute dinner break scheduled thereafter. At that point, PokerNews will be able to post final prize pool information.
