Vincent Tremblay Eliminated in 8th Place ($15,000)

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante
Vincent Tremblay
Vincent Tremblay

Vincent Tremblay just informed the PokerNews Live Reporting team that his run in this event came to an end when he lost a flip holding {9-}{9-} against Paul Hockin, who held {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

Hockin opened to 5,000,000 from the cutoff, Tremblay jammed for about 38,000,000 from the big blind, and Hockin called with the larger of the two stacks. Tremblay's nines were still best after the flop fell, but Hockin paired his ace on the turn to take the lead and Tremblay found no help on the river.

Hockin Wins with a Check-Raise

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

With about 13,000,000 already in the middle and the board reading {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} Paul Hockin checked from the big blind, Vincent Tremblay get 3,500,000 from middle position, and Andrei-Lucian Boghean called from the hijack. Hockin then check-raised to 9,000,000, and after brief consideration, Tremblay folded. Boghean did the same shortly thereafter and Hockin took the pot.

Tremblay Chips Up

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

With a massive pot of about 40,000,000 already in the middle and the board reading {J-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{A-Spades} Vincent Tremblay bet 9,000,000 from the big blind and Paul Hockin called from the cutoff. Tremblay tabled {5-}{3-} for a rivered wheel, Hockin mucked, and Tremblay took the pot to chip up substantially.

Hockin Calls and Wins

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

Vincent Tremblay raised to 3,200,000 from middle position, Michael Sklenicka called from the cutoff, Manuel Martinez called from the small blind, and Paul Hockin called from the big blind.

The four players saw a flop of {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and they all checked.

The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and they all checked again.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the river and Martinez checked. Hockin bet 5,500,000, Tremblay called, Sklenicka folded, and Martinez folded. Hockin showed {Q-Spades}{4-Spades} and his pair of queens was good enough to win the pot.

Paul Michaelis Eliminated in 9th Place ($10,000)

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante
Paul Michaelis
Paul Michaelis

Claudio Di Giacomo raised from early position and Paul Michaelis three-bet jammed from the small blind for what looked like 23,000,000. Di Giacomo quickly called.

Di Giacomo: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Michaelis: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Michaelis was way behind with the smaller pocket pair and needed a lot of help from the deck in order to survive. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and although Michaelis picked up an open-ended straight draw on the {9-Diamonds} turn, Di Giacomo was still best after the {7-Hearts} fell on the river, so he took the pot to send Michaelis to the cage.
