Ayras Delivers Cates a Cooler

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Pauli Ayras opened the button to 4,500 before he called a three-bet from Dan Cates of 14,000 from the big blind.

Cates check-raised from 9,000 to 23,000 after the {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} came on the flop and got a call from his opponent. Ayras then check-called a bet of 30,000 after the {5-Diamonds} came on the turn.

Ayras used a time bank chip before he jammed for over 39,000 after the {8-Spades} completed the board on the river. Cates snap-called and turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. His strong hand wasn't good enough as Ayras rivered a better full house showing {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

There appeared to be some confusion from Ayres after the hand when the chips didn't immediately come his way.

"I won, didn't I?" questioned Ayras.

It was immediately confirmed that was indeed the case and the dealer slid over a big pile of chips to Ayras.
