"I Thought I Was Making a Value Bet!"
Jason Mercier, sitting in the big blind, led out for 1,100 when it was his turn to act. The only caller was the player in the first position. The turn prompted both players to check before the river came . Mercier counted out a bet of 2,175 and tossed it into the middle.
His opponent made the call and Mercier revealed but his opponent revealed for the nut flush and the pot.
Mercier looked up and smiled as he said "I thought I was making a value bet!"
He still healthy on 28,500.
