Joel Smith and his fiancé Nikki both qualified for the King Slayer Championship. The former is one of the most accomplished players in the league and a former National Champ himself.
Both of them actually went deep in last July's "Main Event Mania" promotion and will be looking to do the same in the King Slayer at Golden Nugget.
Likewise, the Wiedenfelds family — Linda (Mother) Mike Sr. (Father) Mike Jr (Son) — all qualified for Sunday's King Slayer Championship Main Event.
Another Poker Power Family, the Petersons, has largely done the same. While former FP National Champ Nels Peterson (pictured) was unable to find time to play in the "King Slayer" promotion, his wife Tannia, son Tyler and daughter Emma all qualified.
Feeling a little left out, Nels opted to support his family by traveling out to Las Vegas. Who knows, he may even find a way to qualify in the daily tourney open to non-qualifiers.
