Matakis and McNee Exchange Blows
Hand #1: A player in middle position limped in and Ian Matakis pumped it up to 500 from the cutoff. John McNee was on the button and called him, as did the big blind. The limper folded and action went three ways to the flop . The big blind and Matakis checked to put action onto McNee, who bet 400. The big blind folded and Matakis called.
With action heads up, both players checked the turn and the river fell . Matakis threw out a bet of 2,500 and McNee immediately dropped in a chip to call.
"Eight," said Matakis, turning over as he prepared to show the accompanying card. It went into the muck, however, as McNee responded to the verbal cue by tabling for a pair of aces to earn the pot.
Hand #2:
On the following hand, Matakis opened to 300 from the hijack and McNee threw in a three-bet to 1,300. Action made its way back to Matakis and he four-bet to 3,500. McNee quickly folded, showing with paint visible on the second card. Matakis tapped the felt to acknowledge the fold as he leaned forward to collect his bet as well as the rest of the pot.
