Matakis Bombs the River

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Jared Koppel was under the gun and opened the action with a raise to 1,100. Ian Matakis called him from middle position, as did Mark Bloomberg from the hijack. Action then folded to Vic Peppe, who defended his big blind to take action to the streets four ways.

Action checked through the flop {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, bringing the turn {4-Clubs}. Peppe, first to act, bet 1,500. Koppel quickly folded and Matakis threw out chips to call. Bloomberg then folded.

With action heads up, the river fell {3-Hearts} and Peppe checked. Matakis announced he was all in for what looked to be around a pot-sized bet, and Peppe wasted no time sending his cards to the muck.
