Li Out, Zhenyu Up, Paik In

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We cruised by Wenling Gao's table to see how she was getting along, and the answer is, pretty well, and Gao has chipped up to 62,000. While we were unable to catch her in action we were rewarded with an interesting hand that played out between Wilson Li and Song Zhenyu.

When we arrived the small blind had a single yellow 1k chip out in front of him on the felt, and cards in hand and was facing a decision as big blind Wilson Li was all in for his last 10,000. Song Zhenyu was also all-in for 20,000 sitting under-the-gun, and the small blind was considering his options. Eventually, he decided on the safer one and folded and the cards were revealed.

Wilson Li: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Song Zhenyu: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Li was all out of luck and the run out came {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs} to bring his Day 1B to a close and bring Zhenyu back up to starting stack.

Gao is not the only High Roller finalist in the running today and we spotted third-place finisher Albert Paik in the field, and he has evidently been busy as is sitting on a stack of 57,000.

Wang Pulls Runner, Runner

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The short-stacked Junfeng Wang was all-in for his last 9,300 with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} from middle position with neighbor Le Peng Cheng looking him up with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Wang's fate was in the hands of the poker gods, and it was a good old-fashioned race to boot. It was one that Wang looked to have lost when the flop came down {8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} to give Cheng top two. However, the poker gods have a sense of humor and Wang hit the {10-Spades} turn to make a set, improving to quads on the {10-Hearts} river, to appreciative 'ooohs' and 'ahhhhs' from the rest of the table.

That spot of could fortune saw Wang double to 20,000 and Cheng drop to 50,000.

Oh Yeah! Zhang and Ji see off Ye

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Wayne Zhang
Wayne Zhang

Wayne Zhang is pretty lucky to still be alive in this one. He was all-in with {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for 24,100 against a player holding {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. The {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop was no good for Zhang but the {5-Hearts} turn sure was, and the {2-Spades} river secured him the double up.

We then enquired about the unfortunate player's name, and were told simply his name is Ye. "Y'know, like yeah!" Qinrong Gao said, and before you knew it everyone at the table was bellowing "yeah!"

But Ye himself was quiet. Two hands later he was all-in from the small blind for his last 4,200 holding the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, in great shape to double up versus Xia Qing Ji's {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. But it just wasn't Ye's day today. The board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} to pair Ji's four, sending Ye to the rail.

Zhang now sits with 50,000, while Ji is on 20,700.

Big End of Day Stacks

Yuefeng Pan
Yuefeng Pan

Several players have built up some monster stacks, and being as these guys are in a position to close out the day as top dog we thought we'd bring some of them to your attention.

Yuefeng Pan played the OPC High Roller, and while he couldn't get anything going in that he has managed to run his Day 1B stack up to 166,000. Pan is playing on the deep stacked table as his neighbor Kimi Dong is sitting on a stack of 197,500, which we believe makes him chip leader with 20-minutes to go.

Other notables on big stacks are Jeho Lee (130,000), though the Korean has just passed some chips the way of Zhou Lin, who made a four card straight with ace-jack to take a bite out of Lee's stack and climb to 187,000 as we were scouting for counts.

Other chunky stacks belong to Gui Fei Zhang (137,000), Lim Hong Peng Po (132,000) and Hsiao Shizi (190,000).
