McNicholas Makes a Tough Call

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Michael McNicholas raised to 12,000 from middle position, and when it folded to the small blind, he three-bet to 28,000. The big blind folded, and McNicholas made the call to see a flop.

The flop came 53Q and both players checked to the 6 on the turn. The small blind then bet 35,000, which was called by McNicholas.

The river was the J and the small blind went all in for 113,000. McNicholas was in the tank for almost two minutes, before finding the call.

The small blind said "Good call" as he tabled AK for just ace high. McNicholas then showed AQ for top pair top kicker, to take the pot and eliminate the small blind.
