Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Quang Vu

The third of five starting flights in the $550 Mystery Bounty at PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas wrapped up with 46 players advancing to Day 2. Leading the way is Quang Vu alongside fellow big stacks Leon Dejoras and Christian Roberts.

These 46 players will join the survivors of the other four flights for Day 2 on Nov. 4, which is when bounties will enter the fray. That's also when the prize pool will be set, which has already smashed the $300,000 guarantee.

Day 1c Highlights

The tournament has already produced some interesting storylines, including notorious 2006 WSOP trash talker Eric Molina making a rare appearance as he soft-bubbled the Day 1a despite flopping a set of aces.

The coolers continued as Terrance Reid flopped a no-good second nut flush to be left with crumbs before bricking a combo draw. Reid bought back in and used the second bullet to run up a top-five stack.

Others who survived Day 1c include Frank Lagodich, Jessica Vierling, Christina Gollins and Michael Wang, who is fresh off a WPT Montreal victory.

Some who failed to bag include poker commentator Jeff Platt, WPT champion Dongwoo Ko and bracelet winners Mark Seif, Jimmy Setna, Tyler Patterson and Rep Porter.

Before Day 2, there is still another starting flight that needs to play out. Day 1e will get underway on Nov. 3 at noon local time and is anticipated to be the biggest starting flight of them all.

Stay tuned as PokerNews will be back on-site tomorrow for coverage of the final starting flight. Check out the live updates from the still-underway Day 1d in the meantime.

In a blind versus blind battle, Jeff Platt got his last 28,000 in the middle and was up against Terrance Reid.

Jeff Platt: QQ All in
Terrance Reid: K9

"Good game, Jeff," Reid told Platt heading to the flop, which came 55Q as Platt didn't have too much to worry about after flopping a full house. The turn, though, was the K and Reid picked up outs going to the river but he missed the J and Platt doubled up.

"I would've seriously considered retiring," Platt said.

"I really wanted to send Jeff into retirement," Reid added as he handed over the pot.

Moorman Spikes the River to Bust Tomkins

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman raised to 3,000 in middle position and Marcus Tomkins called in the cutoff, as did the big blind.

The flop came Q76 and Moorman bet 4,000. Only Tomkins called to see the J turn, where Moorman moved all in.

Tomkins had around 28,000 remaining and tanked for several minutes until tablemate Mario Colavita called the clock. Tomkins eventually committed his last chips and turned over Q9 for top pair, while Moorman had K6 for a flush draw.

The river was the 9 and Moorman completed his flush to send a stunned Tomkins to the rail. "It was a nice call," a tablemate consoled Tomkins on his way to the exit.
