Kyte Checks Down a Winner
Level 3
: Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Justin Sternberg opened to 1,200 in the hijack and Jon Kyte made the call on the button. Maria Ho came along in the small blind, as did Brian Battistone in the big blind.
Ho and Battistone checked the 7♦8♣6♣ flop and Sternberg continued for 3,000. Kyte called while both blinds got out of the way.
Sternberg led out for 5,100 on the 9♦ turn before Kyte slid out a raise to 12,000. The call was made and the 7♣ river was turned over.
Both players checked it down and Sternberg showed K♦8♦ for two pair, eights and sevens. Kyte revealed J♠9♠ for a better two pair to take down the pot.
