Konnikova Bets the Turn

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Action was three ways with Q5K on the flop when Brendan Ferguson checked from middle position before Richard Green tossed out 1,500 from the cutoff. Maria Konnikova made it 3,000 to go from the button and Ferguson bowed out before Green called.

The turn was Q and Green check-called a bet of 4,500 from Konnikova.

Green checked again on the J river and gave up the pot when Konnikova bet 15,000.

Meanwhile, it is now known that Konnikova's emotional support shark goes by "Sharky."

Jesionek Moves In

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

On a board reading A36 Brendan Ferguson checked his option over to Alexander Jesionek in the cutoff who bet 2,400. Action was back on Ferguson who wasted no time before putting in a check-raise to 6,400. Jesionek pondered his options and then put in the call.

The 4 landed on the turn and Ferguson continued the story by wagering 10,000. Jesionek went into the tank and burned a time bank before moving all in for about 26,000. Ferguson snap-folded and Jesionek dragged a healthy pot to inch back over starting stack.

Ferguson Shows Two Pair, Seen Leaving Moments Later

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Isl Gonzalo raised to 900 from under the gun and action folded around to Brendan Ferguson for a call from the big blind.

The flop was Q96 and Ferguson continued for 900. Gonzalo called and the turn was 7.

Ferguson tossed in another 1,900 on the turn, enough to force Gonzalo out of the pot. As he dragged in the pot, Ferguson showed Q7 for queens and sevens.

On the next hand, Maria Konnikova raised to 1,000 and everyone folded.

A few moments later, Ferguson was observed leaving the tournament area with his pillow under his arm.

NAPT Las Vegas
NAPT Las Vegas

The PokerStars North American Poker Tour Las Vegas (NAPT Las Vegas) will relaunch at the Resorts World Las Vegas this weekend after taking 12 years off in the wake of online poker’s demise in the United States in 2011.

PokerNews will be on hand with live reports and other stories from the NAPT, just like in 2010, so there is a sense that history is repeating itself as PokerStars once again establishes its highly-anticipated North American tour.
