Holt Doubles through Aces

Daniel Abromson did what he could. He got Karga Holt to commit his last 203,000 chips pre-flop with pocket jacks against Abromson's pocket aces. But the board bailed Holt out, {j-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {9-Spades} {5-Clubs}. Including what was already in the pot, Holt doubled up to about 450,000 while Abromson fell to just 55,000.

Le Busto

We glanced up at the payouts line and saw Nam Le waiting to get his tax form and winnings. He seems quitely to have busted out of the Main Event.

Soulier Busts

After Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger raised to 25,000, Fabrice Soulier moved all in from the big blind for about 160,000. Lichtenberger made the quite call, tabling the {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. Soulier was on the other end of the spectrum with the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

The board ran out an uneventful {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Soulier was sent packing as Lichtenberger moved even higher atop the leaderboard.

Miami John Takes One from Busquet

Olivier Busquet raised to 20,000, and Miami John Cernuto raised to 58,000 on the button. Livb made the call.

Flop: {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} - check/check

Turn: {A-Spades} - check/check

River: {2-Spades} - Busquet checked a third time, and Cernuto bet 50,000. Olivier looked him up, and just shook his head when Miami John tabled {A-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} for the rivered two pair. Cernuto had around 470,000 after the hand. Busquet's still got one of the largest stacks in the room.

Binger Steamed

The cards were already on their backs by the time we came to Michael Binger's table, but the sequence of events was pretty clear from the position of the button and the stack sizes.

Binger opened with a raise from early position. A short stack then moved all in from late position before Mike De Gilio re-raised all in from the blinds. Binger had both players covered and called, taking the table to a three-way showdown.

Binger: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
De Gilio: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Shorty: {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

"Just no queen," Binger pleaded the dealer, willing to concede the smaller main pot in order to win the large side pot. He didn't get his wish; the flop came {8-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {2-Clubs} to give De Gilio a set of queens.

An irate Binger immediately pounced out of his chair. "So sick!" he wailed. "Every ****ing time! How does that happen in every big ****ing tournament I play!"

De Gilio said nothing as the turn and river came blanks, {4-Hearts} and {6-Spades}. He collected both the main pot and the side pot, eliminating the short-stacked player in the process. He's now sitting behind 610,000, while Binger is down to 260,000.
