Cliff Josephy Eliminated in 7th Place ($85,000)

Cliff Josephy - 7th Place
Cliff Josephy - 7th Place
Cliff Josephy moved all in for 220,000 in the hijack and Vanessa Selbst folded in the cutoff. Derek Raymond shoved on the button and the blinds got out of the way.

Josephy: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Raymond: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The flop came {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Josephy did not find much help there, outkicked by Raymond's nine. The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Josephy was down to three outs to survive. The river was the {J-Clubs} and Josephy was sent to the rail in seventh place.

Pair of Fours is Good Enough for Selbst

Alistar Melville made the first raise before the flop, but it was Vanessa Selbst who took down the pot at showdown. Melville opened for 135,000 from early position and was called by Selbst on the button and Derek Raymond in the big blind. Action passed to Selbst on a flop of {9-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {8-Spades}. She bet 220,000. Only Raymond called.

Both players checked the {9-Clubs} turn. At the river {2-Spades} Raymond bet 450,000. Selbst quickly called. Raymond had a busted draw, {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs}. Selbst showed down {4-Spades} {3-Spades} for nines and fours to take down the pot.

Derek Raymond Doubles Through Cliff Josephy

Raymond gets some more chips.
Raymond gets some more chips.
Derek Raymond raised to 145,000 in middle position and the table folded around to Cliff Josephy in the big blind. "JohnnyBax" moved all in and Raymond made the all-in call after about 30 seconds.

Josephy: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Raymond: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The flop ran out {5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Josephy picked up a straight draw. The {3-Spades} fell on the turn and Raymond looked to dodge an ace, king, or queen on the river. The {7-Diamonds} hit the river and Raymond doubled through for 1,135,000.

He is up to around 2.3 million while Josephy takes a huge hit down to 275,000.

Beasley Gets One Back

Mike Beasley raised to 145,000 on the hand after he played that big pot with Vanessa Selbst. He was acting from the cutoff seat and on the button was Mike Woods. Woods made the call and then Scott Seiver called from the big blind as well.

The three players took a flop of {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Seiver checked first. Beasley was next and checked, slowing down from his preflop aggression. Woods was last up and fired 350,000 into the middle. Seiver passed before action went back to Beasley. He raised to 750,000 after a little bit of a pause. Woods was immediately drawn back from this and showed it when he sat back in his chair. He then tanked for a couple minutes before letting his hand go and letting Beasley take down the pot.
