Valentine Jams Blind

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Andrew Hayton openeed preflop to 8,000. It folded round to small blind Mark Valentine, who moved all in for 30,000. Big blind Peter Charlton, who'd just been moved to the table, moved in over the top, pushing Hayton out of the way (he flashed {k-}{j-}).

"I'm blind," said Valentine, "Just for the bants!" He turned up {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}, which happened to be flipping against Charlton's {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Valentine hits the rail with just 15 minutes left of play in Day 1d.

"He [Hayton] had been opening a lot, so I look down at seven bigs and go for it," explained Valentine cheerfully on the way out.
