Elliot Gets There to Double Through O'Kearney

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Dara O'Kearney raised on the button and Donald Elliot three-bet all in for around eight big blinds. O'Kearney called with {a-}{q-} and was up against Elliot's {10-}{9-}

The {q-}{q-}{j-} suited O'Kearney and although the {6-} turn was a brick, the river was a {k-} giving Elliot a straight and doubling up.

Moneymaker A Contender for the Chip Lead

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Moneymaker was on hand to do the shuffle up and deal
Moneymaker was on hand to do the shuffle up and deal

Marius Chiritoiu opened to 10,000 and Chris Moneymaker three-bet to 35,000 from the big blind. The flop was {4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Moneymaker bet 40,000 on the {j-Clubs} turn and Chiritoiu called. The river was the {10-Diamonds} giving Moneymaker the nut straight and he moved all in. Chiritoiu called with a worse straight and he was eliminated as Moneymaker moved up to around 400,000 in chips.

Martin Eliminated in "Brutal" Fashion

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Chris Martin
Chris Martin

2019 Platinum Pass winner Christian Martin started the day with 51,000 but tripled up first hand. However, after losing with two pair against bottom straight he then lost a 250k flip with kings versus ace king to bust early on Day 2.

"It was brutal," said Martin. "I had king-jack against ace-king and ace-queen to triple up in the very first hand. But I can go back to bed now!"
