Eduard Barsegian Eliminated in 5th Place ($94,300)

Level 35 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Eduard Barsegian
Eduard Barsegian

Eduard Barsegian moved all in for 5,200,000 from under the gun as action folded to big blind Michael Magalashvili, who quickly called.

Eduard Barsegian: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Michael Magalashvili: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop left Barsegian in bad shape as Magalashvili made two pair. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave Barsegian some hope with a straight draw as he was left with three outs heading to the river, which failed to come when the dealer turned over the {k-Hearts}.

Barsegian, incredibly, finished in fifth place for the third consecutive tournament here at the Merit Poker Carmen Series.

Chilaud Bombs the River to Decimate Barsegian

Level 35 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Maxime Chilaud
Maxime Chilaud

Eduard Barsegian limped in with {10-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Maxime Chilaud checked his option holding {j-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

The {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop gave both players a pair and Barsegian led out for 800,000. Chilaud called and both players checked the {k-Diamonds} turn.

The {j-Hearts} river improved Chilaud to two pair as Barsegian again checked. Chilaud held up four fingers to indicate to the dealer he was betting 4,000,000 as Barsegian went into the tank.

Barsegian went through a series of time bank cards before he called with his pair of sixes as he dropped down to less than 10 big blinds.

Atanas Pavlov Eliminated in 6th Place ($76,200)

Level 35 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Atanas Pavlov
Atanas Pavlov

Michael Magalashvili raised to 1,000,000 from early position as action folded around to Atanas Pavlov in the big blind. Pavlov began spinning one of his time bank cards as he thought about the decision before moving all in for 7,100,000. Magalashvili quickly called to put him at risk.

Atanas Pavlov: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Michael Magalashvili: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Pavlov's sevens remained in front on the {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, but Magalashvili picked up the nut flush draw. The {q-Clubs} on the turn completed his flush and left Pavlov resigned to his fate as the river came the {a-Hearts}, sealing his elimination in sixth place.

Fausto Tantillo Eliminated in 7th Place ($63,000)

Level 35 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Fausto Tantillo
Fausto Tantillo

A hand after doubling up Atanas Pavlov, Fausto Tantillo defended his big blind after a 1,000,000 raise from Yuksel Savsa in the hijack.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Savsa continued for 800,000. Tantillo moved all in for his remaining 2,100,000 and Savsa snap-called.

Fausto Tantillo: {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Yuksel Savsa: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Both players had hit a ten, but Savsa's ace-kicker had Tantillo at risk of elimination. The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Tantillo, who began the final table as chip leader, had to settle for a seventh-place finish.

Pavlov Flops the Nuts to Double

Level 35 : Blinds 200,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Fausto Tantillo moved all in from under the gun before Atanas Pavlov, in the hijack, used three time bank cards before sticking in his last 3,200,000. The rest of the table got out of the way.

Atanas Pavlov: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Fausto Tantillo: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Any suspense involved in the coin flip was taken away when the {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop gave Pavlov the nut flush. The {q-Diamonds} on the turn left Tantillo drawing dead and both players sat back down, the {7-Diamonds} river a mere formality.

Pavlov Misclicks, Still Drills the Turn to Double

Level 34 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Atanas Pavlov
Atanas Pavlov

Action folded to Atanas Pavlov on the button and he put in two of the new green 500,000 chips. The floor had to be called to rule on whether Pavlov should be forced to make it 1,000,000 or 900,000 and his raise to 1,000,000 stood.

Michael Magalashvili put him all in from the big blind and Pavlov called off his last 900,000.

Atanas Pavlov: {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Michael Magalashvili: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Pavlov picked up a straight draw on the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and completed it when the {8-Clubs} fell on the turn. Magalashvili was able to laugh off that small hit to his stack as he paid off Pavlov once the {7-Hearts} river hit.

Fausto Tantillo moved all in for 3,700,000 from the cutoff with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was called by Yuksel Savsa in the big blind with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Fausto Tantillo: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Yuksel Savsa:{a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

It was another race but Tantillo won handily after the board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} to give the at risk player a crucial double.
